If you're a Little Lights regular, there's a 90% chance you've met Hayley.
Hayley is our Little Lights Manager. She has been with us since our very first sessions in September 2021 and has a wealth of experience working in leadership roles with nurseries and preschools, as well as SENCO roles.
This Mother's Day, we are celebrating all the Little Lights mothers out there - and we thought it would be a lovely opportunity for you to get to know our smiley, friendly manager a little bit better!
So without further ado, here is a quick Mother's Day interview!
What does your role at Little Lights entail?
I get to create the sessions, assist with writing and producing our original songs, I manage all the admin and I work alongside our lovely class practitioner Rachel and the rest of the fabulous team.
Do you have any children of your own?
I have two children: Sophie, who is 14 and Oliver, who is 11. They are absolutely still my babies!
Can you look back and remember a Mother's Day that stood out for you as the best? What made it so special?
One Mother’s Day, when Sophie and Oliver were 5 and 8, Sophie asked Daddy if they could make me a special Mother’s Day tea. They helped make sandwiches and made chocolate fairy cakes. Sophie took Oliver upstairs and they both got dressed up in clothes they had previously worn at a wedding - Oliver was so proud to come downstairs in his little blue tie!
What are the highlights and lowlights of being a Mum?
Having always worked with children, I thought motherhood would come easily to me…. How wrong I was!!!! Nobody can can prepare you for how wonderful, terrifying and exhausting it is in equal measures! Luckily, they both give great cuddles!
What advice would you give to new Mums?
I know everyone says, “treasure every moment “ and I couldn’t agree more, because it goes by so quickly, but sometimes you just have to take one day at a time and accept that sometimes things don’t go according to plan - and that's okay!
What do you enjoy the most about working with Little Lights?
That's a great question... I think what I enjoy the most is working with families. I love it when people tell me that Little Lights is the highlight of their week and I also love that you share your little ones with me and that I get to see them grow. I honestly treasure those moments.
